The small, former fishing village Molinar is located only a few minutes from Palma. The villages Portixol and Molinar merge into each other and consist of many small parts. The port of Molinar is the heart of the small fishing village. Cafes and restaurants, as well as numerous sun-seekers, gather around the harbor of Molinar.
Molinar was not only once a fishing village, but owes its name to the 28 windmills. Today, only two mills have survived, as in the 80s, the others were demolished and so the village of Molinar awoke to what it is today.
Molinar and Portixol are one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods of Palma, insiders call the area "small Venice Beach".
Molinar - the first sports port of Mallorca
The port of Molinar "Club Marítimo de Levante" is the first sports port of Mallorca. The port was founded in 1917 with 100 berths by a few fishermen. The Club Náutico Marítimo Levante Molinar is surrounded by predominantly two- to three-storey fishermen's houses in a quiet location. Today, in Molinar renovations are in progress, as the harbor restaurant with office space is in need of refurbishment. The residents feared a renovation in the style of Port Adriano, but today it is clear that Molinar will remain authentic, small and idyllic. The former plans to create 300 berths and more were rejected. Both residents and politicians of the city and region have opposed a modernization on a grand scale. The port of Molinar will remain under 90 berths and a sailing school, the port building will be renovated and security arrangements will be increased via dams. Molinar will also benefit from an extended beach promenade in the future.
The atmosphere of Molinar
Molinar not just impresses with its unique flair, the neighborhood is also characterized by an excellent infrastructure and connections to Palma and the airport. The residents furthermore benefit from the proximity to beautiful beach sections and the walking distance to Palma. Over the years, the demand for buying and renting real estate has been growing, as the all-inclusive package in Molinar is consistent. Apart from the infrastructure, Molinar and Portixol offer excellent leisure and sports facilities. Starting with long walks on the beach promenade of Molinar, to water sports, jogging, cycling or inline skating. Everyone will be entertained here. The coastal towns of Portixol and Molinar are no longer just inhabited by Mallorcans. International audiences combined with the Mallorcan calmness characterize the atmosphere of Molinar.
Whether apartment, terraced house, penthouse or a small fisherman's house; In Molinar, every property is worth the price of gold. In the last 15 years, the former fishing village has become a hot spot of Mallorca. The square meter prices in the first sea line shoot up. One might think that the price boom is accompanied by a modernization, but this is prevented by the strict building conditions. So the charm and the typical Mallorcan flair around the Club Nautico Portixol and Molinar, up to Ciudad Jardin, remains. Residents and locals are especially grateful for that. Small flower in front of the colorful fisherman's cottage and the shutters, called "Persianas" in Mallorca, adorn the sleepy village.
