This former fishing village has experienced many improvements and investments over the years.

"Portixol" or "Portitxol", as it is written, represents one of the most sought after spots of Palma de Mallorca. The proximity to the city centre and the airport make it an excellent residential area with its maritime boulevard and the charming harbour of Portixol and its short distance to the centre of Palma. The Old Town with its stunning Cathedral can be reached within only 15 minutes walking distance. This small suburb attracts visitors and locals in summer and winter alike. Here you can relax at any time, take a walk, bike or skate on the beautiful beach promenade, whether to Arenal or Palma.

The charming little fisherman's houses with their "persianas" in different colours, the city beach Can Pere Antoni, the popular sports club Portixol, the unique Hotel Portixol and the popular cafes like for example Yam / Enco / Vaixell complete the package.

Even those who want to spend the winter or plan a visit to the island off season will love it here and due to the proximity to the city centre there always prevails a certain liveliness.


Whether penthouses, terraced houses, fisherman's houses, apartments or lofts, a better location like Portixol for rent is hard to find. The offered rentals often vary enormously. The reason for this lies in the basic equipment from the older houses / apartments up to the new building with double glazing and good isolation. The view to the sea, the port of Portixol and the panoramic view to Palma additionally increase the rent prices. A private pool / hot tub on the rooftop or a pool in a community area, a private parking space or an underground car park, all of which are of enormous importance in Portixol, as, for example, parking space is rare. More and more new row houses with the best equipment, such as air conditioning / central heating / double glazing / underfloor heating, are being constructed and make Portixol more and more modern.

What to expect when you sign a rental contract:

When concluding a long-term rental contract, the owners are usually asked to pay when the key handover takes place, which includes a reservation of a 1.5 month's rent to the real estate agency and a deposit of a two months' rent to the property owner. The reservation is important to really secure the desired object. A long term rental is a rent period from one year, extendable to 3 years, then you can talk with the landlord again and set up a renewal of contract if desired.

If you have terminated the contract and do not want to extend, the tenant gets the deposit back after a thorough inspection of the property, as long as no damage has occurred.

Without the consent of the landlord, the assignment of the contract, the complete or partial subletting of the property is prohibited.

The law of vocational rentals was and still is a big issue on the island, as due to the holiday rental, locals and mainland Spaniards could hardly find affordable accommodations. This has changed again at the beginning of the year 2018, as there are more long-term rental offers again.

Long term rental in Portixol is a good investment over the year, as there are many beautiful sunny days in Mallorca. In Portixol you can rent everything, from the Penthouse with Jacuzzi on the roof terrace, the small refurbished fisherman's houses, row houses or apartments, to commercial real estate such as offices and restaurants in order to possibly become self-employed with a small bar. The offer is big.
